Clear rules for using the DotBead pattern generator and its exports.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to dotbead.com and the DotBead pattern generator, guides, previews, and export tools (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Using DotBead

DotBead is a general-audience creative utility that converts images into fuse-bead pattern suggestions. You may use the Service only if you can legally enter into these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

The current generator runs image and pattern processing locally in your browser. You are responsible for your device, internet access, browser compatibility, downloaded files, and any materials used to make a physical project.

3. Your images and content

You retain any rights you already hold in images and other content you use with DotBead. You must have the necessary rights or permission to use that content. Do not use images that unlawfully infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights.

Because image processing occurs locally, DotBead does not claim ownership of your source image or require a license to host it. You are responsible for reviewing generated patterns and determining whether creating, publishing, sharing, or selling an output is lawful.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use or attempt to use the Service to:

• break any applicable law or violate another person’s rights;
• introduce malware, harmful code, or files intended to disrupt systems;
• probe, bypass, or interfere with security or access controls;
• overload, scrape, or automate requests in a way that harms the Service;
• misrepresent affiliation with DotBead or supported bead brands;
• reverse engineer restricted parts of the Service except where law permits it.

5. Commercial use and intellectual property

You may use a generated pattern for personal or commercial craft projects if you have the rights needed for the source image and final design. DotBead does not grant rights in third-party characters, logos, artwork, photographs, or other protected subject matter simply because the Service can process an image of them.

The DotBead website, interface, software, branding, original text, and original design elements are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for normal use of the Service and downloaded outputs, these Terms do not grant a license to copy, redistribute, resell, or create a competing service from protected DotBead content.

6. Brand names and compatibility

Perler, Hama, Artkal, NABBI, and other product or brand names are trademarks of their respective owners. References to them describe palette compatibility only. DotBead is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by those companies.

7. Pattern and color accuracy

Generated patterns are estimates and creative suggestions, not manufacturing specifications. Screens, printers, lighting, bead batches, finishes, transparency, discontinued colors, image quality, and algorithmic color matching can change the result. Palette codes, dimensions, bead counts, and material totals may contain errors.

Review the pattern, verify color codes and quantities, and allow extra materials before purchasing supplies or beginning a project. Preview colors are not a guarantee of physical appearance.

8. Downloads and exports

PNG and PDF exports are generated for convenience. You are responsible for checking page size, orientation, scale, grid readability, printer settings, and file compatibility before relying on an export. Keep your own copies; DotBead does not promise to store or recover files.

9. Service availability and changes

We may maintain, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features to improve security, reliability, or the Service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every browser, device, palette, or file format will remain supported. Where required by law, material changes affecting paid or existing consumer rights will be handled with appropriate notice and fairness.

10. Third-party services and links

The Service may contain links or references to third-party websites, products, printers, software, or bead suppliers. DotBead does not control them and is not responsible for their content, availability, prices, terms, privacy practices, or products. Review third-party terms before using their services.

11. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that it will be error-free, meet every requirement, or produce a particular artistic or commercial result. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, DotBead is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or purely economic losses arising from use of the Service, including wasted materials, lost files, lost profits, or reliance on an inaccurate pattern. Our responsibility is not limited where liability cannot legally be limited, including for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law prohibits exclusion.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security threats, material violations of these Terms, or operational risk. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and lawful limitations of liability—will continue to apply.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms when the Service or applicable requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Changes apply prospectively. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate or legally required.

15. Applicable law and consumer rights

Applicable law governs these Terms without depriving you of mandatory protections available in your place of residence. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited only as much as necessary and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. Before starting a formal dispute, we encourage you to contact us so we can try to resolve it.
